# Accessibility Statement

Ilya Pevzner wants every visitor, including people using assistive technology, to be able to learn about the tours and get in touch. This page describes what this website does for accessibility, what its known limits are, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

## Our commitment and the legal basis

We work to make this website accessible to people with disabilities, in the spirit of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law 5758-1998 and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments) 5773-2013.

The site is being developed towards Israeli Standard SI 5568 Part 1 at Level AA, using WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the engineering baseline. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing requirement: every new feature and content update is held to the same bar.

## What is implemented on this site

Accessibility features currently in place include:

- Full keyboard operation: navigation, menus, the tour photo viewer, and the contact form work without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.
- Screen-reader support: landmark regions, a logical heading structure, text alternatives for images, labelled controls, and form errors and confirmations announced through live regions.
- Colour contrast that meets WCAG AA on text, controls, and focus indicators, with information never conveyed by colour alone.
- Layouts that work at 200% zoom, at 320px width, and on phones in both orientations.
- Reduced-motion support: animations and the tour carousel respect your system's "reduce motion" setting, and the carousel can be paused at any time.
- Contact by email, phone, or an accessible form, never WhatsApp alone; meeting and pickup information is always given as text.

## Known limitations

We would rather name the gaps than claim there are none.

The optional WhatsApp chat widget is provided by a third party (Elfsight) and only loads if you accept it, so we cannot fully control its accessibility. Everything it offers is also available through the plain WhatsApp link, the phone number, and the contact form.

Some tour gallery photographs are still being described one by one. Where a description has not been written yet, the photograph is labelled only as a photograph from that tour. If a particular image matters to you, contact us and we will describe it.

This site has not been audited by a certified accessibility service expert. This page describes our own testing, and is not a certificate of conformance.

## Accessibility enquiries

Accessibility enquiries are handled by Ilya Pevzner personally. If you find a page or a feature that you cannot use, or you need information from this site in another form, please get in touch and we will help you directly and fix the underlying problem.

You can also use the contact form on this site. Accessibility requests are treated as a priority and answered as quickly as any booking enquiry.

## Physical accessibility of the tours

Website accessibility and the physical accessibility of a tour are two different things, and we keep them separate on purpose.

Tours run in a private vehicle to sites that vary widely: some have level paths and lifts, others involve uneven ground, steps, or long walking. Where a tour page shows accessibility notes, those notes are what the guide has confirmed for that specific tour. Where a tour page shows nothing, it means we have not yet confirmed anything for it, not that it is accessible.

Please ask before you book. Tell us what you need, and we will say honestly what is and is not possible on a given route, and where an itinerary can be adjusted to suit you.

## Status of this statement

The website was reviewed and remediated for accessibility in September 2026 by its development team, covering every public page template, the contact form, the photo galleries, and the navigation. Testing included automated checks, keyboard-only operation, colour contrast measurement, 200% zoom, and a 320px viewport. Automated and keyboard checks now run on every change to the site.

This statement was last updated in September 2026. It describes the state of the website honestly, and it is not a legal certification of conformance.
